Power the Comeback

PHILADELPHIA, PA – (September 24, 2020)Philadelphia Hospitality will hold its 2020 Power the Comeback Online Silent Auction from October 7, 2020 to October 14, 2020 in lieu of their annual Vision for Philadelphia Awards. Philadelphia Hospitality is premier tour operator featuring guided, one-of-a-kind local experiences. The tours are customized for leisure, business groups, friends and families and offer behind-the-scenes access and VIP customer service.

The pandemic has affected hospitality and tourism’s 104,000 jobs and $12 billion industry. Restaurant closings, canceled events and hotel bookings and limited international and domestic travel is expected to result in a $1.1 billion decline in economic activity this year, according to Visit Philadelphia and Tourism Economics.

The auction is designed to help the region and its businesses persevere and recover in the coming months. “The global pandemic hurt us where we live, but we are not a community or city that will stay down. We keep getting back up, brushing ourselves off and reinventing our industry,” said Mariska Bogle, Executive Director of Philadelphia Hospitality, Inc.

“The auction will contribute to helping reinvigorate the industry. By bringing the assets of our city into focus, people can again experience what has made the region a great place to live and visit. While our annual fundraiser has shifted to a virtual event, its vital for us to continue to promote the region as a premier destination for cultural and historical travel in turn supporting regional economic development, stated Mariska.”

The online silent auction will feature a Foursome of Golf at The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale,  a Nicole Miller Manayunk $200 gift card with a private or virtual styling appointment, dinner for 2 at Jean-Georges Philadelphia at the Four Seasons, an early morning tour of the Flower Show in its new outdoor location in early summer for (4) led by Pennsylvania Horticultural Society president, Matt Rader.
